(2) Information regarding the use of the Service, etc.

Order history, store use history, flight registration information service use results, information regarding responses and inquiries in various surveys, IT and system data including use status of the Service and customer location information, information regarding customer use of the Service, including cookies and activity logs on websites

3.Personal Information Utilization Purposes

JAT will only use the personal information acquired from customers to the extent necessary to achieve the following utilization purposes, and will not use personal information beyond this scope. In the event JAT changes the utilization purposes, such changes shall be limited to a scope deemed reasonably related to the utilization purposes before such changes, and the utilization purposes following the changes shall either be communicated to customers via notices, or publicly announced.

1.To confirm orders, deliver products, and collect payments pertaining to the Service

3.To respond to inquiries about the Service

4.To send catalogs and direct-mails pertaining to the Service

8.To improve the Service, and to otherwise develop, analyze, and examine the products and services provided by JAT and JAT Group Companies

9.To measure the effectiveness of the Service with respect to provided/explained information based on actual use of the Service (including location information)

10.To perform analyses via profiling, targeting, and scoring, etc. based on information regarding behaviors and interests, such as order history and service use status

11.To perform behavioral analyses from customer attribute data based on airport use status, etc.

12.For other marketing purposes

    4.Provision of Personal Data to Third Parties

    JAT will not provide personal data of customers to third parties without the consent of the customer except for the following circumstances:

    1.Where provision is permitted by laws and regulations

    2.When JAT subcontracts personal data handling to the extent necessary to achieve the utilization purposes (in such circumstances, JAT shall supervise the subcontractor as necessary and appropriate to ensure safe management of the personal data provided through the subcontracting arrangement)

    3.When jointly using such data with JAT Group Companies (please see “5. Joint Use with JAT Group Companies” below)

    JAT and JAT Group Companies (see below) may jointly use, as described below, personal information pertaining to customers in order to explain products and services handled by JAT and JAT Group Companies to customers, as well as to improve and promote products and services, among other similar uses. Personal information that may be subject to joint use includes the following: names, addresses, telephone numbers (including cellphone numbers and fax numbers), email addresses, company names and organization names, department names, job position titles, workplace locations, and other information pertaining to contact details, gender, date of birth, order history, credit card information, and other payment-related information, flight reservation and cancellation information, Service use results, information regarding responses in various surveys and inquiries, IT and system data including use status of the Service and customer location information, information regarding customer use of the Service, including cookies and activity logs on websites, and other information. Please note that, although JAT is the party responsible for management of any customer personal information subject to joint use, JAT Group Companies will also strictly manage personal information with the same level of care as JAT.     6.Disclosure of Personal Data, etc.

    If JAT receives requests from customers based on the Personal Information Protection Act for the disclosure, correction, addition, or deletion of personal information, as well as the suspension of provision to third parties and the disclosure of records pertaining to provision to third parties (hereinafter the “Personal Information Disclosures, etc.”), JAT shall promptly address such requests to the extent deemed reasonable after confirming that such requests do in fact come from the customer to whom such information pertains. Inquiries regarding Personal Information Disclosures, etc. will only be accepted by phone. Please be aware that customers may be separately charged actual expenses for Personal Information Disclosures, etc.

    7.Management of Personal Data

    JAT will strive to keep personal data accurate and up-to-date within the scope necessary to achieve the utilization purposes, and will endeavor to immediately erase the data when it is no longer needed for use.
    JAT will take necessary and appropriate measures to prevent leaks of, loss of, and damage to, personal data, and to otherwise ensure the safe management of personal data.
    JAT will supervise employees as appropriate and necessary to ensure proper handling of personal data.

    GDPR Privacy Policy

    With respect to personal data collected by the online shopping website, duty-free advance registration website, and smartphone application operated by JAT (collectively referred to as the “Service”) to which privacy laws and regulations apply, in accordance with such applicable privacy laws and regulations, etc., JAT has set forth the following GDPR Privacy Policy (hereinafter the “Policy”).

    1.Protection and Management of Personal Data

    JAT collects the personal data (see “3. Personal Data Collected” below) of users of the Service (hereinafter “Customers”) to the extent necessary to ensure the smooth operation of the Service (information provision via the service, receipt of various opinions, sale of products through the Service, etc.). The personal data collected will be handled appropriately within the scope of the utilization purposes (see “4. Utilization Purposes of Personal Data, and the Basis Thereof”).

    JAT collects the following personal data pertaining to Customers.

    ○ Access logs to the Service (IP addresses, cookies, and mobile device identification information (Android ad identifiers, iOS ad identifiers, etc.), etc.)

    ○ Information related to the submission of inquiries and opinions by Customers (names, email addresses, content of inquiries and opinions, etc.)

    ○ Information relating to the sale of products through the Service (names, addresses, telephone numbers, email addresses, genders, dates of birth, passwords, credit card information, purchase histories, and delivery addresses, etc. of purchasers)

    4.Utilization Purposes of Personal Data, and the Basis Thereof

    JAT collects and utilizes personal data for the following purposes, in accordance with the legal bases described in the accompanying parentheses.

    ○ Page control, customization, and access analyses for the Service (legitimate interests)

    ○ Responses to inquiries and opinions from Customers, and improvement of the Service and other services provided by JAT (legitimate interests, legal obligations)

    ○ Security measures for the servers running the Service (legitimate interests)

    ○ Responses pertaining to the delivery and billing, etc. of product sales through the Service (performance of agreements)

    5.Refusal to Provide Personal Data

    JAT must have Customers provide their personal data in order to use the Service. If Customers do not wish to provide their personal data, JAT may not be able to provide them with all or a part of the Service.

    6.Technology Used to Collect Personal Data

    JAT may acquire cookies and mobile device identification information (Android ad identifiers, iOS ad identifiers, etc.) through the Service.

    ○A. JAT utilizes Google Analytics in the Service to learn how our websites are being used. When using Google Analytics, Google may utilize cookies, web beacons, and other similar technologies to collect, record, and analyze information regarding Customers.     ■If Customers do not want Google Analytics to use their data, they can disable Google Analytics by downloading and installing the Google Analytics opt-out add-on provided by Google, and changing their browser add-on settings.

    ○B. In this Service, JAT uses Cookiebot, a GDPR-responsive information analysis service provided by Cybot, to restrict the acquisition of information by using cookies during periods where Customers have not consented to the use of cookies, to acquire cookie consent information, and to analyze the status of consent with respect to cookies. When JAT uses Cookiebot, Cookiebot will acquire cookies consent information, and Cybot will analyze the status of Customer consent with respect to cookies.

    7.Disclosure and Provision of Personal Data

    ○A. JAT may share personal data with JAT Group Companies (see below) in accordance with applicable privacy laws and regulations, etc. Furthermore, to the extent necessary to accomplish the purposes described in this Policy, JAT may subcontract certain duties to external parties, and disclose and provide personal data to the extent required for said subcontractors to process the duties delegated to them. In such an event, JAT shall supervise the subcontractor to the extent necessary and appropriate to ensure safe management of the delegated personal data.

The Service utilizes Google Analytics as provided by Google, Inc. in order to ascertain the access conditions of the web pages on the website in order to improve content of web pages, as set forth in “6. Technology Used to Collect Personal Data.” JAT may, through our use of Google Analytics, disclose and provide personal data to Google, Inc.

    ○C. As described in “6. Technology Used to Collect Personal Data” above, in this Service, JAT uses Cookiebot, a GDPR-responsive information support service provided by Cybot, to restrict the acquisition of information by using cookies during periods where Customers have not consented to the use of cookies, to acquire cookies consent information, and to analyze the status of consent with respect to cookies. JAT may, through our use of Cookiebot, disclose and provide personal data to Cybot

    ○D. In order to comply with applicable privacy laws and regulations, etc. JAT may disclose and provide the personal data of Customers to relevant authorities, and other recipients of disclosures and provisions stipulated by applicable privacy laws and regulations, etc.

    8.Transfers of Personal Data to a Third Country Outside the EU

    In order to achieve the utilization purposes, JAT stores all personal data of Customers within Japan. If JAT provides personal data of Customers to third parties, we will adhere to the provisions of applicable privacy laws and regulations.

    9.Storage Period for Personal Data

    JAT may retain the personal data of Customers for up to five years.

    10.Customer Rights, etc.

    ○A. Customers may exercise the following rights with respect to personal data retained by JAT, within the scope stipulated by applicable privacy laws and regulations, etc.

    ■ Right to demand correction of personal data (GDPR Article 16)

    ■ Right to demand erasure of personal data (GDPR Article 17)

    ■ Right to demand restrictions on personal data processing (GDPR Article 18)

    ■ Right to demand that personal data be transferred to Customers or to third parties (data portability) (GDPR Article 20)


    ○B. If Customers seek to exercise any of the rights described above, they should communicate with the points of contact set forth in “12. Contact Us.”

    ○C. Customers have the right to withdraw any consent provided with respect to personal data processing anytime, insofar as the processing in question was conducted based on the consent of Customers. Withdrawal of consent will not work to undermine the legality of any processing performed prior to the withdrawal where the processing was conducted based on Customer consent. (GDPR Article 7(3))

    ○D. As a general matter, if a Customer is a child under the age of 16, consent of the party with custodial responsibility over the child will be required. (GDPR Article 8)

    ○E. Customers have the right to lodge a complaint regarding JAT’s handling of personal information with supervisory authorities responsible for information protection, including supervisory authorities applicable to the EU member state to which the Customers themselves belong, as well as the EU member state in which the Customers work, or in which the infringing conduct took place.
